Let us ponder over the most important fluid in our lives i.e. water. We use water directly for most simple and most complex needs as well as indirectly. The lifestyle tips in this story is to make one aware of where all we are consuming water in a water scarce planet. Water footprint is the amount of water used in totality by an individual. Most evident use of water is directly in drinking, kitchen, bathroom, spaces around home and other buildings we visit. In kitchen, water is extensively used in sink, dishwasher and cooking. Bathroom also accounts for major water spent in bathing, washing machine, toilets and facets. Indirect use of water is the use of water hidden in our everyday processes – wheat, clothes & electricity. The indirect water consumed by consuming wheat is the equivalent of water used to grow, pack and deliver wheat right into our kitchen. Water footprint is the total amount of water consumed in a process which is the sum of freshwater used, rainwater used and polluted water which is not fit for use anymore.
