I recently went to the Lakme Fashion Week Winter and got to experience the amazing fashion moments firsthand. I have written about how to choose an outfit for the fashion week in a previous post that you can check here. (link it)
In this one, I am going to share my outfits that I wore for the Lakme Fashion Week. Now, when we are going out to hang with our friends, we usually throw on jeans and a tee without putting too much thought into it. But when it is a special occasion, we spend a lot of time wondering what to wear, what accessories to pair it with, what shoes to wear, etc. So here a few things that you must consider before choosing an outfit for any special occasion.
The first thing you need to understand is your personal style as it reflects your taste the best. An outfit selected keeping in mind your style will help you be absolutely comfortable with what you wear.
When it comes to a fashion event like Lakme Fashion Week, you might want to look at the hottest trends of the season. As everyone there will be totally on-trend, and you do not want to feel left out!
Of coure, comfort is the most important. If you love that tight fitting bodycon dress but are not comfortable in it, your discomfort will be seen. And you definitely want to be all smiles for the pics you are going to take! Plus, a fashion week is a morning-to-night event and you do not want be feeling distressed all day long. So make sure to pick clothing pieces that you feel comfy in.
One check you need to do is the weather app. If it is going to be a hot day, you might want to skip the super tight leather pants and go for the chic leather skirt instead. Similarly, if its raining, you can leave you white sneakers at home and go with waterproof booties.
Here are a few looks that I wore to the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018.
Sporty wear has been a huge trend for quite sometime now. I chose athleisure in the hottest shade of the season – red! I have paired an off-the-shoulder crop shirt with a red skirt and matching shoes. And I added a bum bag for accessory.
Here I have paired a regular button down shirt with frayed denims. I have styled the shirt as a one shoulder top. The trendy polka dot shoes complete the look.
In this look, I wanted to try something edgy. I have paired a sequined top with a patent leather dungaree. I kept one shoulder unbuttoned to show the sequin detail of the top. For shoes, I matched the top with the colour grey. And nothing says trendy like this tiny sunglasses!
Florals have been quite a range! I personally love a floral pattern, it looks so feminine and beautiful. But just to give it a fashion week edge, I paired this pretty maroon floral top with a high-waisted faux leather skirt. And for an extra oomph, I added the sport shoes to complete the look.
For this look, I have paired a neutral skirt with a striped crop top and thrown on a camo jacket. I have paired it with comfy shoes for the sporty vibes the whole look gives.
